CREEPY crawlies will be on show at Cogges Manor Farm Museum during a special weekend dedicated to all things insect-like.
On Saturday, visitors to the museum of Victorian country life, in Church Lane, Witney, can meet local insect enthusiast Steve Allen and his collection of bugs, non-venomous snakes and spiders.
The exhibition is part of the museum’s Mini Beasts, Bugs and Bats event.
On Sunday, people can find out more about bats, with the Oxfordshire Bat Group, which will bring along a selection of the mammals for the public to view.
The group monitors how many bats there are in Oxfordshire and cares for injured and grounded bats.
They also help protect bat roosts by advising builders, architects and householders.
There will be children’s trails and the chance to meet and handle some of the farm’s animals on both days.
Museum manager Francesca Jones said: “Cogges Manor Farm Museum has a wide range of interesting and diverse activities planned this spring and summer and the Mini Beasts, Bugs and Bats event is one of the more unusual ones.
“Some people might be wary of spiders or snakes so I hope that they will take this chance to meet some of the creepy crawlies at the museum and conquer their fears by finding out more about them.”
The event runs from 11am to 5pm on both days. The museum is also offering a special season ticket price for the cost of three visits — £18 for adults, £7.50 for children, aged three to 16, and free for under-threes.
