A CHURCH porch which has had £150,000 spent on it has had the holy seal of approval.
The Bishop of Oxford, the Rt Reverend John Pritchard, held a rededication ceremony at St Leonard’s Church, in Sunningwell yesterday, to mark the finish of repairs to the 16th century, seven-sided porch.
The Rev Pam McKellen, priest in charge, The Rev Pam McKellen, priest in charge, pictured with the Bishop said: “The church was packed. There were about 90 adults and 20 children.
“Afterwards we had tea in the garden. The church bells were ringing. It was just fantastic.”
A £30,000 contribution from Waste Recycling Environmental Ltd was among the donations.
