TRINITY Davis will return to school today with a bulging autograph book and tales of an amazing weekend that will be hard for her classmates to match.
The nine-year-old Eynsham Primary School pupil accompanied the FA Cup on to the Wembley turf before Saturday’s final, and had the added bonus of sharing a hotel with the Britain’s Got Talent finalists the night before.
The Chelsea-mad youngster was the winner of an FA competition which attracted 9,500 entrants.
She joined seven-year-old Everton fan Nathan Tootle in parading the trophy before kick off.
Trinity, of Blankstone Close, Eynsham, said: “It was really exciting going on the pitch, but I was a tiny bit nervous. The best bit was shaking hands with the Chelsea manager.
“I also met the people from Britain’s Got Talent and got lots of autographs. I think my friends at school are going to be really jealous.”
Trinity’s father, lifelong Chelsea fan Jason, 38, said: “Before the game she met the players and mascots in the tunnel, although she didn’t get to individually meet the players as they were preparing themselves for the match.
“Guus Hiddink, the Chelsea manager, met Trinity and shook her hand and said hello and wished her good luck.
“(Former UN Secretary General) Kofi Annan was the guest of honour and he also shook her hand and said good luck, so did the chairman of the FA.
“The FA put us up in a hotel next to Wembley the night before and it was where the Britain’s Got Talent people were staying, so it was an extra bonus for Trinity.”
Her collection of autographs included winners Diversity, Flawless, 2 Grand and Hollie Steel.
Mr Davis added: “After the national anthem she strode out on to the pitch, full of confidence with the cup by her side.
“She had the time of her life, it was a fantastic time. Trinity took it all in her stride.
“She wasn’t fazed by 90,000 people looking at her, and she had a wonderful time.”
Trinity was accompanied at the match by her father, mum and grandfather, who were seated in the Chelsea end.
Mr Davis added: “It was a perfect day, and a once-in-lifetime opportunity.
“When she came back to the seats just after 3pm she had the biggest smile on her face. “Everyone around us saw her on the pitch and was congratulating her.
“It was a very emotional day seeing your little girl out there on the pitch. It was an amazing experience.”
