Police closed down three illegal raves in Oxfordshire during the recent Bank Holiday Weekend.
The three unlicensed parties, at Wytham, in Oxford, Thame Showground and Checker Walk in Abingdon, were among 10 raided by police across the Thames Valley during Operation Robust at the weekend.
Insp Steven Capper said: “Thanks to the efforts of our officers, our communities did not suffer the disruption, noise and damage historically associated with Bank Holiday weekends. Those intent on continuing to hold illegal parties need to be aware that Thames Valley Police will continue to implement these tactics, in closing down unlicensed parties and seizing sound equipment whenever the opportunity arises.
“We ask for the help from the community by reporting any unlicensed events or unusual activity, such as large convoys of cars, as early as possible, as this will assist us to respond in the critical early phases.”
Police made two arrested for drug possession.
Anyone with information about unlicensed parties should call police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
