A TODDLER from Oxford who became the youngest person in England to be diagnosed with swine flu is continuing his recovery.
A spokesman for the Health Protection Agency said the two-year-old boy, who has not been named, was being treated with anti-viral drugs.
The youngster was described by Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust as linked to a 29-year-old woman, also from Oxford, who was announced to have been diagnosed with the H1N1 virus on Sunday.
She tested positive shortly after returning from a trip to the USA.
Everyone who recently came into close contact with the boy is now being treated with anti-viral drugs.
It is understood he does not attend any toddler groups, schools or playgroups.
Health officials have refused to say if the boy was the woman’s son, only referring to him as “a close household contact”.
A spokesman for the PCT said the number of people being diagnosed with swine flu could increase in the autumn or winter of this year.
