A VILLAGE church porch which was dilapidated and in need of repair will be rededicated by the Bishop of Oxford.
The Rt Rev John Pritchard will conduct a special service to mark the £150,000 revamp at St Leonard’s Church, in Sunningwell.
The Friends of Sunningwell Church launched a fundraising appeal in 2007.
The appeal attracted £30,000 from Waste Recycling Environmental Ltd (Wren) and help from Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust, as well as donations and cash from fundraising events.
More money raised by the Friends also meant the church could be redecorated.
The Rev Pam McKellen, priest in charge of Sunningwell, said: “Pieces of the porch had started falling off and we needed to do something quite urgently.
“The church remained open throughout the works and on one day we conducted a service surrounded by a scaffolding platform.”
At a special service on Sunday at 3pm, Bishop John, will give thanks for the work and rededicate the porch.
The service will include A Hymn for Sunningwell written by David Matthews.
