A MAN was beaten until he was unconscious by two robbers.

The 49-year-old man was attacked from behind and knocked to the ground in Wantage Road, in Wallingford, sometime between 12.15am and 2am on Friday police said today.

They said the man got back up and tried to run away but the robbers, two men, continued to attack him until he was unconscious, and stole around £100.

Det Con Stephen Knight said: “Fortunately this man didn’t sustain more serious injuries and was discharged from hospital the following morning.

“I would like to ask that anyone who may have seen this assault happen, or who has any information to get in touch.”

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and been released on bail until June 9.
