The Wines for Spring Lamb mixed case costs £88 and includes three bottles each of the following four wines.
Castillo del Moro Tempranillo/Syrah 2008, Spain: A modern Spanish wine with bright upfront fruit boosted by the syrah in the mix which gives a spicy, white pepper aspect to the fruit. Although dry, there is a hint of sweetness here which goes beautifully with the sweetness of spring lamb.
Pinot Noir Chantovent 2007, France: Pinot noir and lamb is a classic combination. The lightness of this superb Burgundy lookalike perfectly complements the delicacy of the meat.
Navajas Crianza 2005, Spain: Rioja and lamb is the ultimate combination. The smokiness of the Rioja goes brilliantly with barbequed or grilled lamb, especially if herbs are used, and the result is stunning.
Twin Islands Pinot Noir 2007, New Zealand: This pinot noir from New Zealand has rich ripe fruit and the merest hint of sweetness which makes it a great partner for lamb, and especially tender spring lamb.
