SCARY Poppins, Elvis Presley and the Blues Brothers are among more than 40 brightly coloured scarecrows now occupying homes and gardens in East Hagbourne, near Didcot.
The creations are part of the village’s fifth annual scarecrow trail to raise money for a hospital in Liuli, in Tanzania.
This year, the organisers chose a musical theme with other entries including Wurzel and his Technicolour Dreamcoat, Oliver! and Les Miserables.
The trail, which has grown from 15 scarecrows in 2004 to 44 this year, takes place until Sunday, June 7, with people paying £1 for a map to follow a route and vote for their favourite.
Maps are available from the village shop and church in Main Road with tea and cakes sold from 3pm to 5pm at weekends.
Organiser Doug Amos said: “It really seems to have caught people’s imagination and it just seems to get bigger and bigger every year.”
