An exhibition of all things 70s opens at the Museum of Oxford tomorrow, along with a ‘Super Seventies Family Day’ to remind – or inform – visitors what the decade was like.
On show will be a range of 70s clothing and visitors can go into a teenager’s bedroom full of records and magazines – and sit on a talking sofa.
Museum assistant Katie Timmins is pictured with all the essential accoutrements of the decade. There will also be a visual exhibition on the music and fashions of the decade, including punk, glam rock and disco. Sporting heroes, film and TV and technological advances will go on show, with 70s themed interactive workshops and a trail through the museum.
The museum, in St Aldate’s, is open Tuesday to Friday 10am to 5pm, and noon to 5pm at weekends. The 70s’ exhibition runs until July 12. Picture: Mark Bassett
