AN array of students’ artwork is set to go on public display.
Fine art students from Oxford and Cherwell Valley College, in Broughton Road, Banbury, have been working on paintings, sculptures and videos for the exhibition. Their work will go on display at G Block in the college from June 17 to 20.
Chris Muir, fine art course leader, said: “Many students have studied part-time for six years following a two-year foundation course.
“Such a level of commitment requires hard work, stamina and staying power, and the range of work carried out is impressive.
“As well as tackling many aspects of practical work, students also have to fulfil the academic requirements of the university.
“These include the study of the history of art, the study of contemporary art, lecture theatre presentations, and a number of written assignments.
“The Banbury campus is well known for providing an approach to the study of fine art that is broad and all-encompassing. Students are encouraged to study in depth, but also to follow their own inclinations when deciding which media to use.”
The gallery will be open from 11am to 7pm on Wednesday and Thursday, June 17 and 18, and from 11am to 2pm on June 19 and 20.
