I am delighted that Soha Housing’s Silver Surfers venture around South Oxfordshire last week made your pages – and especially the internet linking of Wallingford, USA with the one in Oxfordshire.
In all, our staff ran seven sessions and met more than 100 older people who came to find out more about computers.
In an age where increasing numbers of transactions and communications take place over the internet, we at Soha Housing are determined to enable more of our residents to become aware of computers and get the confidence to take advantage of job, education and leisure opportunities.
Bridging the so-called digital divide is a key aim for Soha; so far we’ve met 10 per cent of the residents of Soha Housing’s stock of 5,200 homes and advised members of the public who have joined us at community projects. There is still a long way to go, but I feel sure your recent coverage will encourage many more readers to give computers a go.
