THE Royal Mail has apologised after political pamphlets were folded inside the city council’s quarterly publication and posted to residents – just weeks before key elections.
The pamphlets – thought to include publications by the British National Party and the UK Independence Party – should have been delivered on their own but were inserted into the summer edition of Your Oxford.
Oxford City Council notified Royal Mail what had happened after being contacted by residents yesterday.
Royal Mail spokesman Tom Prendergast said: “No materials should be combined with another customer’s mailing. If this has happened we apologise.”
