VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help run a Bicester football club bar.
At the moment Bicester Town Football Club opens up the bar on match days and special events.
All the proceeds go towards maintaining the club and keeping the football team running.
The management team is desperate for someone to come in, take over and introduce new ways of boosting profits.
Treasurer John Clutterbuck said at the moment the bar makes so little cash there is no spare money for wages.
He said: “We need someone who has the energy and ideas to make the bar a good social retreat.
“Even if it is to encourage people to watch top games, like international or champions league games in the bar, or perhaps stage social events in the hall.
“We need someone who will take it on for now as a challenge and not for money — yet.
“Perhaps this would appeal to retired people as they may encourage use of the social areas during daytime as well.
“The football club needs a social side to keep the football club afloat.”
Bill Hammond ran the bar at the club for many years, but has decided to step down.
