WHATEVER your opinion on John Kelly’s extraordinary outburst at the failings of Oxfordshire County Council and the emergency services’ handling of disaster situations in the county, it sparked a debate.
Today it is the turn of Brian Langston, the assistant chief constable of Thames Valley Police, and John Parry, Oxfordshire’s chief fire officer, to have their say.
That they have been moved to offer their side of the story says something.
But to their credit they hold their hands up and admit emergency services were too slow to act in the past.
Let’s hope lessons have been learned.
