Thames Valley Police picked up the 2009 Contact Centre Public Sector Innovation Award after changing shift patterns, which helped staff answer 92.1 per cent of 999 calls within ten seconds and 92.3 per cent of non-emergency calls in 40 seconds.
The force has five centres, including two in Abingdon and Kidlington.
