Sir – I write with regard to your article entitled An objectionable plan (April 23).
In his rebuttal, Rex Knight, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Oxford Brookes, states ‘the university had consulted widely, but had not received complaints from any other local residents’ group about the proposals to replace buildings on its main campus’.
If Mr Knight cares to visit the Oxford city planning application website he will find that in addition to the Headington Hill Residents’ Association he will also find strong letters of objection from New Marston Residents’ Association, Highfield Residents’ Association, Jack Straw’s Lane Residents’ Association, New Headington Residents’ Association and Hill Top Road Residents’ Association.
There are also 13 letters of objection from residents of Gipsy Lane and very critical letters from Oxford Civic Society and Oxford Preservation Trust.
Colin Rosser, Headington Hill
