I AM writing to raise my concerns regarding the current parking issues, specifically in Hill Top Road, Oxford.

This is a quiet residential road which leads to Southfield Golf Club and a residential home for young adults.

These people like to access the local community, whether this be by wheelchair or using the service vehicles.

Parking in this road has been an issue for many months now, with cars parking on both sides of the road, as well as on the pavements.

This issue is far worse during term-time and during the day, and is thought mainly to be due to students from Oxford Brookes University.

On weekdays we are unable to access the local community in one of our vehicles, which is specifically designed for wheelchair users.

Wheeling wheelchairs on the pavement is impossible as cars are parked on the kerbs.

Lorries delivering specialist equipment to both the home and golf club have been unable to access and exit these addresses.

Difficulties with ambulance and fire tender access have been compounded by the restriction to the width of the road.

These issues are extremely serious because this inconsiderate and thoughtless parking could potentially be putting lives at risk.

I have also contacted the vice-chancellor of Oxford Brookes University to raise their awareness of this issue.
