MORE than 100 speeding drivers were caught on the county’s roads as part of a Europe-wide safety crackdown.
The police operation across Thames Valley was part of the Tispol road safety week last month.
Tispol is an organisation bringing together traffic police across Europe.
Officers carried out speed checks in Watlington, Milton Common, Wroxton, near Banbury, and Eynsham Road, in Botley.
They caught 132 motorists driving over the speed limit.
Sgt Chris Appleby said: “We caught far too many people exceeding the speed limit.
“We will continue a campaign of education and enforcement to drive home the message to motorists that speed kills.”
Checks were carried out every day between April 20 and 24 across the Thames Valley Police area.
In total, 382 drivers in the region were stopped for driving above the speed limit.
Drivers were given roadside education from an Oxfordshire County Council road safety officer or fined if their speed was well above the limit.
