A list of cases which have recently been heard at Oxford Magistrates' Court.
Mark Bray, 29, of Parsons Mead, Abingdon, admitted causing criminal damage to a police cell in Abingdon on September 21 last year. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.
Susanna Brackett, 47, of Bayswater Road, Headington, admitted possessing cannabis, amphetamine and cannabis resin on September 29 last year in Oxford. Also admitted possessing amphetamine on November 21 last year in Oxford. Given five-week curfew from 8pm to 7am and ordered to pay £60 costs.
Adam Doyle, 22, of Ladder Hill, Wheatley, admitted driving while disqualified and using a vehicle without insurance in High Street, Cuddesdon, on March 21. Given a 12-week jail sentence, suspended for 14 months, and 100 hours of unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £60 costs and banned from driving for 12 months.
Simon White, 29, of Bernwood Road, Headington, admitted stealing three Bluetooth headsets worth £159.97 belonging to Carphone Warehouse on March 16 in Oxford. Also admitted stealing fragrances worth £226.59 belonging to Debenhams on April 9 in Banbury. Given a 90-day jail sentence, suspended for six months, a six-month supervision order, 100 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay £35 costs.
Martin Judd, 22, of Turnpike Road, Oxford, admitted drink-driving with 91 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood and driving while disqualified in Oxpens Road, Oxford, on January 25. Given a 60-day jail sentence, suspended for 12 months, a 12-month supervision order and ordered to pay £40 costs. Also banned from driving for 36 months.
Lew Odigie, 19, of Cowley Road, Oxford, admitted driving other than in accordance with a licence and using a vehicle without insurance in Cowley Road, Oxford, on January 5. Also admitted possessing crack cocaine on the same date. Fined £50, banned from driving for six months and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.
Jonathan Simpson, 31, of Horseman Close, Headington, admitted stealing fragrances worth £290 belonging to Debenhams on November 27 and December 3 last year in Oxford. Also admitted stealing painkillers worth £2.21 belonging to the Co-op in Oxford on April 16, stealing six tubs of body butter worth £72 belonging to the Body Shop in Oxford on June 6 last year, stealing a bouncy castle worth £40 belonging to the Early Learning Centre in Oxford on June 13 last year, stealing two DVD box sets worth £89.98 belonging to Borders in Oxford on June 18 last year, and failing to comply with a community order . Jailed for nine weeks.
Lucasz Adamczyk, 21, of Parkway, Old Marston, convicted of possessing a kitchen knife with a 6in blade in George Street, Oxford, on November 8 last year. Also admitted failing to surrender to bail at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on March 13. Given an 84-day prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, also a 12-month supervision order and 40 hours of unpaid work.
Thomas Kamau, 41, of Freelands Road, Oxford, admitted fraud by false representation by giving a copy of a false Kenyan passport and a copy of a false UK residence permit to a potential employer and the Criminal Records Bureau in High Wycombe on September 19 last year. Given 24-month conditional discharge.
Shaheed Syed, 30, of Hurst Street, Oxford, admitted stealing a mobile phone from another person in Oxford on February 12. Given 18-month supervision order with drug dependency treatment and 40 hours of unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £50 compensation and £20 costs.
David Lycett-Green, 33, of Thames Street, Oxford, admitted causing criminal damage to four car wing mirrors in Oxford on November 4 last year. Ordered to pay £60 costs and £531.22 compensation.
Jamal Khan, 22, of Mill Street, Oxford, admitted failing to comply with a community order in February, possessing heroin on August 26 last year in Milton Keynes, failing to surrender to bail at Milton Keynes’ Magistrates’ Court on September 5 last year, possessing a lock knife in Ducklington Lane, Witney, on April 15, and possessing heroin in Witney on the same date. Jailed for six weeks.
Alasdair Burn, 33, of Banbury Road, Oxford, admitted drink driving in Banbury Road on April 9 with 89 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Fined £1,200, ordered to pay £60 costs and a £15 victims’ surcharge. Also banned from driving for 24 months.
Alison Cox, 36, of no fixed address, admitted causing criminal damage to a car windscreen in Oxford on April 12. Jailed for 14 days.
Howard Haslam, 58, of Elm Grove, Brize Norton, convicted of four charges of making a false statement to obtain benefit between July 2006 and April 2008. Given a two-year conditional discharge.
Charlotte Orchard, 27, of Barton Village Road, Headington, admitted stealing two bottles of vodka and tin foil worth £32.31 belonging to Sainsburys in Oxford on April 7. Also admitted committing a further offence during a suspended sentence. Given a 14-day prison sentence, suspended for six months.
Caroline Walls, 33, of Linnet Close, Oxford, admitted stealing four bottles of whisky, two bottles of vodka and meat worth £152 belonging to Sainsburys in Oxford on April 9. Given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £60 costs.
Byron Jose, 23, of Long Ground, Oxford, admitted using a vehicle without insurance in Garsington Road, Oxford, on September 26 last year. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge. Also given six penalty points.
Carly Makepeace, 27, of Horseman Lane, Marston, Oxford, admitted stealing bread rolls, ham, tomatoes, cucumber and chicken portions to a value unknown belonging to Sainsburys in Oxford on April 6. Given 18-month conditional discharge.
Angela Moore, 42, of Thistle Drive, Oxford, admitted assault by beating in Oxford on November 28 last year. Given 12-month supervision order and ordered to pay £50 compensation and £50 costs.
Daniel McCollin, 27, of Blay Close, Oxford, admitted stealing a chicken tikka wrap worth £2.75 belonging to Boots in Oxford, on October 2 last year. Also convicted of handling a stolen bicycle worth £400 on September 18. Also admitted failing to surrender to bail on October 22 last year. Given 24-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £50 costs.
Charles Couper, of Bagley Wood Road, Kennington, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Park End Street, Oxford, on April 11. Fined £75 and ordered to pay £60 costs and a £15 victims’ surcharge.
