Police are appealing for witnesses after a man chased two schoolgirls in the car park at Sainsbury’s in Wantage.
Between 4.15pm and 4.45pm on May 1, two 11-year-old girls were walking home from school when a man, who was believed to be drunk, jumped out at them and started shouting at both of them.
The girls ran away and the man followed them for a short distance.
The man told the girls that his name was Bruce. He is aged about 50 years, slim with a grey beard and moustache. He was scruffy and wearing a grey T-shirt with stripes, blue jeans and black jacket.
PC Robert Gurr said: “The girls were unharmed, however, this is an alarming incident and I am keen to catch whoever is responsible.
“I urge anyone who might have sent this man in the area, or knows who he is, to get in touch.”
