SIXTY motorists were stopped by police in Abingdon town centre this morning for not wearing seatbelts.
Police carried out the spot-checks in Ock Street between 8am-10.30am.
They spotted 60 people not wearing seatbelts, who then all received a roadside safety lecture from Oxfordshire County Council specialists.
Officers also caught 15 drivers using their mobile phones at the wheel.
They all now face a mobile phone road safety awareness course.
Ten vehicles were taken off the road because they were not roadworthy.
