A judge ordered a Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier called Oscar to be put down yesterday after it savaged a postman at an address in Coach Lane.
At Oxford Crown Court, the dog’s owner Malcolm Morris, a grandfather-of-one, lost his appeal against an order by magistrates on March 27 that the dog should be destroyed.
Oscar, who had twice before bitten people, attacked the postman on June 9 last year.
Recorder Sara Staite said: “The postman saw the dog launch itself at him and sink his teeth into his groin.”
