TWO friends from Oxford are urging people to vote for their chilli and chocolate flavoured crisp.

Walkers Crisps' Do Us A Flavour finalists Catherine Veitch and Sian Smith are battling it out for a £50,000 prize.

They are one of six finalists in the competition.

The other flavours are fish and chips, onion bhaji, crispy duck and hoisin, cajun squirrel and builder's breakfast.

Ms Veitch and Miss Smith, who work for an Oxford-based educational publisher, were given £10,000 to develop their flavour.

They will receive £50,000 if it wins, plus one per cent of net revenue sales for the duration of the period the flavour is on sale in shops.

Miss Smith, 31, who lives in Summertown, said: “We really want to say thanks to everybody for their support –– we just need people voting for another two days.

“We have met so many lovely people and got to do so many brilliant things.

“We find out if we have won on Wednesday. We are very excited. We are going up to London for the day and there will be lots of media interviews.”

People have until the end of today to vote for their favourite crisp.
