CONSERVATIVE leader and Witney MP David Cameron officially opened a new extension at a West Witney nursery school.
Mr Cameron met staff, children, parents and grandparents at Stepping Stones Day Nursery and Nursery School, in Edington Square, on Friday.
The school has spent six months and £150,000 building the extension, which will cater for an additional 16 children and will be used during the day by three- to five-year -olds and by its after-school club in the afternoons.
Headteacher Jane Kelly said: “It is just so much more pleasant than the temporary buildings that we were using, which needed upgrading.
“The opening was a wonderful occasion and a great success. Mr Cameron spoke to lots of parents and grandparents and even the decorator.”
Entertainment for the children included face painting, decorating biscuits and playing on new garden equipment.
