POLICE today renewed their appeal for information of a crash near Witney which killed a motorcyclist.
The accident, involving between an Audi A4 car and a motorbike, happened on Monday, April 20, on the B4022, at the Crawley turning, north of Hailey, at about 2pm.
The air ambulance took the rider, Robert Smith, 46, of Giernalls Road, Hailey, to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he died from his injuries.
The driver of the Audi, a 58-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released on bail.
Pc Charlotte Smith, of Thames Valley Police, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this collision.
“I would especially like to hear from the driver of a light-coloured Vauxhall, possibly an Astra or a Vectra, which was travelling along the B4022 from the Finstock direction and turned right into the Crawley junction.
“It is believed they may have seen the collision or events leading up to it but didn't remain at the scene, as they were the vehicle in front of the car involved. They were not involved in the collision in any way.”
Anyone with any information should call Pc Smith on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
