HUNDREDS of Wallingford residents enjoyed fun in the sunshine at a belated St George’s Day bash.
The patron saint’s day took place on Thursday, but town councillors wanted to stage their own celebration on Saturday to make it easier for people to take part.
It was the second year running the town has staged a special event to mark St George’s Day.
And the celebration proved such a success it is now expected to become an annual fixture.
Morris dancers, fairground rides, a Punch and Judy show and a number of stalls were laid on by the Wallingford Partnership, an organisation set up to promote the town.
A hog roast and barbecues also helped keep revellers in a patriotic mood.
Town councillor Lynda Atkins said: “Hundreds of people came along —everyone had a brilliant day.”
