IMMIGRATION officers raided an Oxford restaurant as part of a crackdown on illegal workers yesterday.
Six people were arrested at the Dancing Dragon in Banbury Road, Summertown, at about midday.
The restaurant was issued with an on-the-spot penalty notice, warning that the owners could be fined up to £60,000 if they were found not to have checked work permits correctly.
UK Border Ageney officers questioned staff and arrested four Malaysian men and two Chinese men.
The Malaysian men were detained and are now awaiting removal from the country.
The two Chinese men have been temporarily released while documents are processed ahead of their removal.
Restaurant manager Joe Tsang said: “It was my day off. The UK Border Agency has yet to tell me what is happening and I cannot comment further.”
