Oxford United fans have marked the final game of the season with a range of colourful costumes.
Children as young as five have dyed their hair blue and painted their faces yellow and blue in honour of the U’s.
Adult fans have donned black and yellow jester hats and two women fans have even invested in some special Oxford United sunglasses.
George Raynor, 20, from Bicester, said: “Since Christmas we have done amazingly well, and it is tantalising to be so close to the play-offs. It might not happen for us today, but I’m sure the players will come across and applaud the fans at the end of the game.”
Oxford-born Andy Scholes, 49, from Reading, was in the club shop to buy a copy of Denis Smith’s book and meet the former U’s manager.
He said: “All three of my kids have been mascots here and it’s hell for me living in Reading, as you can imagine. It was great to meet Dennis Smith.”
