Oxford United fans at the Kassam Stadium have been nervously debating their team’s chances of reaching the play-offs today.
The U’s need to beat Northwich and hope for other results to go their way in order to keep their promotion hopes alive.
Paul Crook, 22, from Drayton near Abingdon, said: “A lot needs to go our way. The season started iffy but from Christmas onwards it has been brilliant.”
Season ticket holder Kim Reynolds, 25, who lives near Carterton, said: “The new manager has made a big difference. I am really looking forward to the game.”
Mike Farrington, 34, from Letchworth, Herts, said: “My favourite player this season has been James Constable. Chris Wilder has been brilliant as a manager and given confidence to the team — its just a shame the end of the season has come so quickly.”
Dave Cox, 56, from Southport, Merseyside — a U’s fan since the age of 16 — said: “I always come to the game at the end of the season and whatever happens, just being in the ground will be a fantastic buzz.”
