A sea of yellow has greeted thousands of fans arriving at Oxford United’s Kassam Stadium this afternoon.
U’s devotees remain split about the likelihood of the team clinching a place in the play-offs with victory over Northwich today.
Other results will also need to go the team’s way if their promotion dream is to stay alive.
Lee Phillips, 23, from Drayton near Abingdon, said: “This is the biggest game since the play-offs against Exeter City two years ago. It’s a shame it’s not in our hands, but I think we could do it.
“We’ve finished the season very well and I reckon we will win the conference next season if we don’t go up this year.”
Andy Dadson, 48, from Thame, said: “We know we have to win but unfortunately we are relying on other results. Since Christmas the team has been outstanding and there is no shame if we don’t make it to the play-offs.
“The support away from home has been great and we need to keep the team together for next season.”
