The A40 Oxford to Witney road was reopened this morning after roadworks took longer than expected.
The road had been closed overnight between the Wolvercote roundabout and Cassington as workers demolished the old A34 Wolvercote viadcut.
The A34 is unaffected as it is being diverted onto a temporary viaduct.
A diversion was set up along the A34 southbound to Botley, A420, B4044 to Eynsham, B4449 northbound and vice versa.
The road was reopened before 9am.
