Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery that happened at Benny’s Internet Café in St Aldates.
Just before 3.45pm yesterday a man, in his forties, was in the basement using the computers when a woman came up to him and grabbed his bag.
The man turned around to get it back when another man came up to him and assaulted him. The man and woman then left the shop, leaving the bag behind.
The man is white and thought to be about 25 years old, with brown hair and stubble. He was about 5ft 10in tall, medium build and was wearing a dark top with the sleeves rolled up.
The woman was white, about 5ft 6in to 5ft 7in tall, under 25 years old, with short sandy blonde hair. She was wearing a dark top.
Det Con Simon Beaton said: “The man sustained a broken nose in the assault.
“This is a distressing, nasty incident and we will not tolerate this type of crime.
“It is possible that another man might have been involved and I would ask that anyone who may have seen these men or the woman before, during, or after the robbery or have any information to get in touch.”
Anyone with any information about the incident to contact Det Con Beaton at Oxford police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don’t want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
