Police are appealing for witnesses after nine cars were damaged in Witney overnight last night.
Five cars parked on Oxford Hill were targeted. The details are as follows:
A burgundy Vauxhall Corsa had its windows smashed and an attempt was made to hotwire the car.
A blue Toyota Roadstar had its passenger window smashed.
The lock was popped on a green Austin Metro and an attempt was made to remove the steering wheel lock.
Two windows of a silver Vauxhall Astra were smashed.
A black SEAT Leon had a window smashed and a wallet was stolen from inside.
In the same night two cars were damaged in Wadards Meadow. A white Vauxhall Nova and a gold Vauxhall Vectra had windows smashed and attempts were made to start both cars.
A red Vauxhall Astra had a window smashed and an attempt to hotwire the car was made in Eton Close and in Blakes Avenue, a silver Vauxhall Vectra had windows broken and the steering wheel stolen.
PC Adrian Brooksbank said: “These incidents happened within a short distance of each other and are clearly linked. It seems the offenders made some attempt to start some of these cars but were unsuccessful.
“I would urge anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area last night or early this morning to contact me.”
