This is the face of a man wanted in connection with an attempted doorstep shooting.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident at Brampton Road, in Barton, Oxford, at about 10.40pm on Tuesday.
Detectives said they are investigating a number of suspected motives, but today released this e-fit image of one of two men wanted for the attack.
Two men knocked on the door of a 59-year-old man in Brampton Road and asked him to confirm his name.
As he shut the door a shotgun cartridge was fired missing the man and hitting a wall.
The two men escaped in a dark-coloured car thought to be a Volkswagen Polo or Golf.
The victim and his family are now in hiding outside the county.
The e-fit does not show the alleged shooter and is a description of his accomplice.
He was described as Asian or mixed race, between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 7ins, aged between 20 and 25 and of medium build.
He was wearing smart clothing, including black trousers, a grey or blue v-neck jumper with a black T-shirt underneath and a black or grey blazer.
The man did not see the shooter.
Det Ch Insp Colin Paine said: “If you recognise the man in this image, please get in touch with me.
“Although we are treating this as a targeted incident, and offences involving a gun in the county are rare, we will not tolerate this type of behaviour and are doing everything we can to catch those responsible as soon as possible.
“We have been working relentlessly and are pursuing a large number of different lines of enquiry but we need help from the public, and urge anyone, with any information, to contact us.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
