Oxford is today set to become only the second city in the UK to enforce 20mph speed limits on its residential roads.
A plan will be agreed by Oxfordshire County Council's transport supremo Ian Hudspeth at a meeting at County Hall this morning that makes almost every residential street within the city boundaries an enforceable 20mph zone.
The scheme, which is set to cost almost £250,000, is likely to be agreed at a meeting starting at 10.30am.
Portsmouth is already a 20mph city.
