A badly decomposed body has been found in the River Thames at Wallingford.
Police divers retrieved the body at about 1.20pm yesterday.
The dead man was believed to be aged in his 50s. Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
Thames Valley Police spokesman Claire Gourlay said officers had notified the family of 59-year-old Alan Douglas, who has been missing from his home in Littleworth Road, Benson, since April 9.
A spokesman for the Oxfordshire Coroner said formal identification of the body was not expected to take place for several days.
