Police are appealing for information after two men barged into a property in Darenth Court, Hamble Road, Didcot.

At about 10.30am on Sunday five people, two men and three women, arrived at the property and the men forced their way in through the communal door and then into a ground floor flat.

The occupants of the flat escaped through a lounge window and ran around to the car park where they were confronted and one, a man aged 58, was assaulted with what is believed to be a baseball bat.

The burglars didn’t steal anything and left the property in gold coloured Citroen Saxo which was being driven by a white woman.

The man who assaulted the other man was black, about 6ft tall, stocky and in his mid to late twenties. He was wearing a dark baseball cap, dark sunglasses and a dark coloured jacket.

The other man was mixed race, about 18 years old and skinny. He was about 5ft 9in tall and was wearing a beige baseball cap and a beige jacket.

The three women are all white and thought to be in their twenties.

Det Con Dave Edwards said “Although we believe this to be an isolated incident, this has been particularly distressing for the residents who have been left shocked.

“I urge anyone who may have seen this group of people or any suspicious activity in the area at the time, to contact me.”
