Police are investigating reports that a man pulled a gun outside a house in Oxford.
Shortly after 11am on Sunday, police were called to an address in Ambleside Drive, Headington.
This followed a report that there was an argument between the occupant of a house, a woman, and some men who were outside the property in a red Audi A3.
A police spokesman said during the verbal altercation it has been alleged that a man held up what is believed to be a firearm.
There were two men inside the car, both are white and thought to be in their twenties.
Det Sgt Russell Simpson said: “I would like to reassure residents that although no shots were fired, we are treating a report of this nature very seriously and have a team of officers working towards arresting those responsible.
“I would also like to offer the reassurance that this is a rare and isolated incident and urge anyone who was in the area at the time and saw any suspicious activity, to contact me.”
Anyone with information which could help the police should contact Det Sgt Simpson at Oxford police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don’t want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
