HUNDREDS of people braved miserable weather to show off their prowess at an Easter egg-rolling competition.
Up to 300 people gathered at Oxford’s Shotover Country Park today to take part.
Competitions included best decorated egg, fastest egg and the demolition derby, where hard boiled eggs are thrown repeatedly down a hill until the last unshattered egg wins the contest.
Dozens of eggs decorated with everything from monsters to rock stars were put on display to be judged by Oxford Lord Mayor Susanna Pressel.
Ella Magee, 8, from Headington, Oxford, was celebrating after her hamster egg was named best decorated.
Her mother, Tara, 38, said: “It was a fun thing to do. Shotover is lovely, even in the rain.”
