IT IS good news there may finally be progress at the King of Prussia pub site in Rose Hill.
For too long it has been an eyesore and a blight.
Do you realise it is four years ago this month that brewer Greene King shut its doors?
And it is not far off three years since it was destroyed by fire.
The Midcounties Co-Operative, which bought the site in 2005, has been working on plans for it ever since, with a couple of ‘false dawns’ over progress.
But this week’s approval by councillors to build a new parade with four shops will hopefully see work start soon.
We have, of course, been here before, when planning permission was granted but a wrangle over contributions from the developer meant nothing actually happened.
The Co-Op was not available to comment on its latest plans but we join the people of Rose Hill in urging it to move forward quickly.
It does no one any good to have such a significant site remaining a derelict collecting point for trouble.
