A 24-year-old man has admitted causing the death of a man following a crash on the M40 — and then setting fire to his van.
Bernie McDonagh, of Middle Ground, Wheatley, admitted causing death by careless driving, driving while disqualified, possession of cannabis and arson when he appeared at Oxford Crown Court.
He also admitted having no insurance and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
The charges follow the death of Ross Shears, 28, of East Sussex, following a collision on the southbound M40 between Milton Common and Lewknor in July.
McDonagh denied perverting the course of justice and the charge will lie on the file.
He was remanded in custody ahead of sentencing on April 15.
