Police this afternoon renewed an appeal for witnesses following the fatal collision that occurred yesterday morning on the A34, near Oxford.
A 17-year-old girl from Buckinghamshire who was arrested yesterday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs has been released on bail until July 1.
At about 4.15am a silver Toyota Yaris containing four people was travelling southbound between Peartree and Botley when it left the road and ended up in a wooded area.
One of the passengers, aged 17, from Lower Swell, near Cheltenham, died as a result of her injuries.
The driver sustained minor injuries, the front passenger, a boy from Boars Hill sustained minor injuries and another boy from the Thame area, a back seat passenger, is in hospital in a serious condition.
Sgt Nick Perks, who is investigating the collision, said “I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the car prior to this incident, or witnessed the collision itself.”
