A 52-year-old man is recovering in hospital today after suffering a suspected head injury in an incident in West Oxford last night.
Police were called after 10pm when a member of public found the man, who lives in Oxford, lying in the street outside Halfords, in Botley Road.
Claire Gourlay, a spokesman for Thames Valley Police, said officers were trying to establish if the man had been assaulted or received his injuries in a fall.
She added: “He is in a stable condition in the John Radcliffe Hospital and officers will be speaking to him later on today.”
Police closed the road while they dealt with the incident.
