The teenage girl who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a crash on the A34 yesterday has been released on police bail.
The 17-year-old was questioned by police following the crash in which her 17-year-old female friend, a passenger in the car, died.
There were four teenagers in the Toyota Yaris when the vehicle left the southbound carriageway at 4.15am, between the Pear Tree and Botley interchanges near Oxford.
An 18-year-old man, also a rear seat passenger, is in a critical condition in the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said the 17-year-old driver, who was also arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs, had been released on police bail until Wednesday, July 1.
