A motorist who lied about his car being stolen after crashing it into a roundabout has been jailed.
Oxford Crown Court heard Olivier Robinson, 25, was caught when his DNA was found on the car’s airbag after the crash in November last year. He had a previous conviction for drink-driving.
Robinson, of Lilac Way, Carterton, admitted perverting the course of justice, fraud and failing to report an accident.
He made a false insurance claim of £750, although he was arrested before cashing the cheque.
Recorder Antonio Bueno jailed Robinson for six months and handed him eight penalty points.
