Motorists in Oxfordshire are suffering less damage to their cars from potholes than in any other county in Britain according to a new survey.
Figures show that in the county only 4.2 per cent of cars each year needed repairs because of poor road quality making Oxfordshire the best place for drivers out of 56 county’s across England, Scotland and Wales.
The worst county was Ayrshire in Scotland which suffered axle and suspension failure rates of 14 per cent while drivers in Northumberland experienced 13.8 per cent.
The survey was carried out by Warranty Direct, who analysed insurance claims covering damage to shock absorbers, springs, upper and lower arms and stabiliser bars on 50,000 of its insurance policies.
