Campaigners in Wheatley will today seek to reduce noise levels on the A40.
Wheatley Parish Council vice-chairman Gwendolen Birks is due to speak at County Hall in support of a motion put forward by Oxfordshire county councillor Dermot Roaf, which calls for noise levels on the county’s roads to be measured.
The move could pave the way for improvements on the A40 near Wheatley, which those living nearby claimed was making their lives a misery.
They want Oxfordshire County Council to carry out a noise survey to measure the impact roads have on those living nearby.
Mrs Birks said: “Our particular anger is the noise levels on the A40 between Sandhills and Wheatley, only a three mile stretch. It affects a lot of people.”
