THE county council wishes to reduce pollution in the centre of Oxford. I would suggest that the greatest pollution is caused by stationary traffic with engines running.
Often the queue of traffic from the maze near the station, with its 35 poles bearing traffic lights, goes all the way back through Beaumont Street, St Giles and even up into Banbury Road. What a difference it would be if, when the old station was taken down, a circulatory system had been installed.
