Railway Social Club A became the Oxford & District League’s the most successful team ever after ending the Greene King Winter League season with a stunning 8-1 win over the visiting Littlemore British Legion.
It maintained their amazing record of finishing in the top two of the Premier League in summer and winter for the past 13 years, taking the title 11 times.
Singles wins from Ollie Varney (180), Aarron Stevens, Phil Addison (180), Ronnie Anderson (2x180), Steve Foster and Ady Larner gave them a 6-0 lead.
Legion took the opening pairs game when Peter Kinch and Peter Herman beat Varney and Anderson, but this proved to be their only success.
Railway finished runners-up, two points behind champions Original Swan A.
Section Two champs Rose Hill Community Centre A ended the season in style with a 5-4 success over the visiting North Oxford Con Club.
Alan Stimpson gave the visitors an early lead, but the home side battled back to lead 3-1 through Steve Pladdys (180), Gary Grant and Jason Taylor.
Matt Brain and Sean Holley squared the match at 3-3, Brown’s 3-2 win over Dave Witherwick producing a maximum 180 and three top-class finishes of 160, 100 and 110.
Rose Hill took the pairs 2-1, denying the Conservatives a chance of runners-up spot.
George Bar A are Section 5 champions after an impressive run of results.
Halfway through the season, they were in the bottom half of the table, but in their last six games they dropped only 13 points while amassing 41.
The latest outing saw them defeat the visiting Grove House Social Club 6-3 to capture the title by six points from New Club.
In the ladies league, Vikings A visited Crown House needing four points to land the Section 1 title.
They started well when Pauline Bloomfield beat Donna Shirley, but the home side hit back through Lorraine Gavin and Rachel Joines.
Vikings then opened up a 4-2 advantage via Lisa James. Gill Cooper and Lyn Slay, who gave them a 4-2 lead, and a 3-0 pairs win increased it to 7-2.
* The Oxford & District Darts Association’s 82nd winter finals will be held at Rover Social Club, Romanway, on Friday, June 5.

* THREE Tuns (Kings Sutton) swapped places with previous leaders Chinnor FC at the top of the Oxfordshire Super League when they saw off their closest rivals 7-2.
